Here are two ways to change a fraction to a decimal:
If possible, make an equivalent fraction over 10, 100, or 1,000.
Example: 2/25 = 8/100 Then write as a decimal. 8/100 = 0.08
If this is not possible, then divide the numerator by the denominator.
Know these facts.
8 x 7 = 56 7 x 6 = 42 6 x 9 = 54
4 x 6 = 24 3 x 9 = 27 9 x 7 = 63
Know these first 6 multiples of these numbers.
12, 24, 36, 48, 60, 72
15, 30, 45, 60, 75, 90
25, 50, 75, 100, 125, 150
